About

Lawrence’s story began as he left Northern Wisconsin to join the U.S. Army where he served for 8 years, the last four of which were spent with the Task Force 160th Special Operations. Once leaving the military, he moved to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, spending the next 20 years there immersed in the amazing cultural melting pot that is Washington, D.C. He began working for The Newspaper Guild, the union for those in the newspaper industry; after the Guild merged with a much larger union, The Communications Workers of America, he soon found himself working in their legislative department. Also during this time he earned a BA in Labor Studies and a Masters in Public Administration. He spent many years as an activist working for social and economic justice for the every-day person, including being one of the first local officers of Pride@Work, AFL-CIO — a lgbtq+ labor organization.

Now, all these years later he has moved to Ontario Canada with his husband of 18+ years where he has taken on a renewed vigour, exploring individual’s stories, finding what motivates them to wake every day to do the work they do, no matter what that work is. Lawrence brings his vast experiences with so many types of people to this work.
